Breaking The Silence!

well it has been months since my last post, I'm sorry for dropping y'all like that just out of nowhere but life got a little hectic but its all good now and I've got Christmas break coming up this Friday so I'll be blogging (hopefully) every day now!

As far as the studio go's I have been working on some things mainly a stablemate scale desert tan western saddle set. You see I have started working in this scale so much that I have decided to move to that scale, don't worry if you've only read my blog cause I worked in trad scale-I'll still be doing some of that, just not as much as I have.
I'm still customizing too. That will probably involve a whole lot of traditional! But there is one little guy that I am definitely going to paint, my copy of Morgen Kilbourn's Pixel! This little dude is my first ever resin so he means a whole lot to me (Morgen if your reading this thank you so much I love him!) I'm thinking either dun, buckskin, palomino or appaloosa but you never know he could change by the time I get him all prepped.

So that's about what I've been up to lately if y'all know that I have a YouTube account then I will tell you I'm working on lots of videos right now so I haven't left YouTube either;)

Well there's not much to say other than hi lol but sadly school has started, I've neglected my blog for far too long. It's time I start posting more seriously (pft! Like that'll ever happen).

Life has been hectic lately and I havent been able to do anything related to the hobby, but I'm sure I'll have something for y'all tomorrow surely. Big projects are coming up so I'll post stuff about that.

Breyer run!

I'm going to my favorite Breyer dealer tomorrow, don't know who-or what!- I'm going to get but I've bought some new horses,


I've been on vacation for a while so I just Had to find a Breyer dealer or two while we where away and of course, thanks to the Internet I found two of them! At one I bought totalis and the other I bought Headly brittiana, she had some terrible box rubs and paint blobs but at least I can use her in my new YouTube series. My totalis was ok though he seems LSQ but I'm not quiet sure, I also found a Breyer at a consignment shop for $19.99 he had a bronze finish and was on the smokey mold I believe he's actually a connoisseur model I think his name is Durango. He's in ok condition some small ear rubs but nothing major.


Also I a good Friend that customizes and she was in the middle of a horse that I just loved<3 so I asked her if he was for. Sale which he was! So now he's getting finished then he will come to his new home, He was originally a Kong ( one of my favorite molds) now he's a nice big running draught stallion. I just can't wait for him to get here so I can get some clothes on the fellow*squeal!*



So thats what's been happening with my life, been riding a lot since summer started.its been kind of rainy so I can't ride right now, but I can't complain we need the rain cause it's been really dry and when it get dry we have a really bad chance of wild fires and we DON'T want that.

Hey guess what!

I found so really awesome horse stuff today!


One cooler ( made by triple crown, don't know much about this brand)
A saddle ( didn't bother looking at it, in real bad shape)
A pair of boots ( too small for me )

And I also found a good pair of English spurs but I don't ride English so I didn't really need them.


And I found a little HSO  he looked like a classic sized Arabian foal... With no hair:/ so I left him for some lucky little horse loving kid to find ( other than me!)


And in other words I'm starting a sculpture but I'm not sure what to do as far as pose. So if you have anything to suggest then go right ahead ;)

I hate skiving

I have been skiving leather *all* day and it's killing me! It's my least favorite part of take making...


But i love the end product, so as soon as I got tired of the leather I watched my hamster Chubs for a while he ran around his cage for what seemed like hours lol

And now I'm sitting thinking of things I can do to keep myself entertained...

Sorry for such an uninteresting post today but I cant think of much and I don't have any pictures

Im on vacation again

Yep, can't post pictures either...so you will just have to read words all this week. Sorry, but my computers always crash up here and the never come on again and I don't want to kill my laptop at the moment! xD

So here is a load of what I've been doing.


Getting my halter page setup to start taking orders. Give me and idea and a picture and I'll give it ago depending on what it is I will give a price once we have everything worked out as far as planning.

I will also take orders for leather halters too, I'm open to anything but a trad sized saddle,  stablemate and shcleich/pebble I can do just know my work is not considered LSQ but of course feel free to try it on a show table if you like.

And lastly I can also make bridles and headstalls. Just give me a picture and I will 9 times out of 10 be able to make it.

Ive also been painting, priming and prepping models. My latest horse is a classic scale mare she is going to be a dark bay or maybe something else whatever she decides lol

Now I am going to watch  Duck Dynasty

I don't have many words tonight so instead I'm just going to post videos of mine from my YouTube. I promise I will at some point get the whole swing of my blog and all that but until then I'll have very short posts.

And lots of it I'm so sorry for being so loser-ish and not posting I'm planing to post tomorrow so look forward to that.

I have started working with my pony Trigger because he haven't been rode in 2 or 3 years and he took the saddle pretty well today but he needs to lose a LOT of weight for my saddle to really be able to stay on his fat butt lol so not to much to update so far, I may invent a wordless monday tomorrow.

I am still on vacation and still no computer.... One thing I want to know is, can anyone see the pictures on my last two posts? I'm using an app to get my pictures on( only thing I've done is resize them and put my name on my pics) the app is called pic collage and I can't see them but I thought maybe I just couldn't see them because I was on my iPad...

So please let me know wether or not you can see them, thanks ;)

Just some progress

Here we go!

 

Firstly sorry for the wonky pictures but I don't know why they're  doing this. Second, this is what I've done for aBout two days, again below is another bad pic but it's the best I could get.

As you can see I have a "V" shaped browband which I really like but, it's still not fully done I'm going to make reins, a tie- down and breast-collar to go with it I may start trying to sell these at 10- 15 dollars depending on difficulty but I don't know how much interest there would be. Please, if you would be interested comment below.

Orb...

I dont really have much to say about that, I was really hoping that Orb would win today but he just didn't do it... Oxbow did run a good race today though. Mylute finished 3rd which I was happy about because I was really rooting for Rosie to atleast get 5th since that was what she and Mylute got in the derby.

Now if you excuse me I'm going to go pout in a corner for the rest of the day.

studio progress

No matter how little there is of it there's still some.
 first I have a stablemate  right now who got chopped up in a big way,

 

now that I look at him his neck looks kind of long, oh well that can be fixed easily.
next I have a peter stone Palouse  I ordered off eBay last week.this shows a before and after, but I just now got her in primer but I need to cover her with more.

and just incase you're wondering, that bridle she's wearing in the first picture is a bittless bridle.
Pretty simple to make probably not LSQ but I thought it was cool.

 

yeah so that's what I've been up to nothing much, maybe I'll get to paint one of them tomorrow.

 

halters...finally

well, I know what your all thinking "its about time!". So without further ado here are some halters.

 this is the most simple halter I can make regular throat strap and a one ring halter rig.
(below is a picture of the underneath of the halter so you can see the one ring halter rig better)

                       the next halter shows a two ring halter rig, with a rolled throat strap.

Now the lead rope options. I can only do a four strand braid at the moment, here's what it looks like.

 It was made to match the halter in the first picture. I can make two different lead rope clips one is a lobster clasp and the other wire bent into a "?" shape.

(I'm not taking orders yet I have to find out if I can but I thought if enough people where interested then my parents would say yes).

Well, I'm not sure what to say other than "Bad Jordan bad! Why did you slack off so much"

But......in other words I got a Horse in the mail Friday and 2 weeks before that....Don't worry I'm going to post a very long post tomorrow updating my studio progress (what there is of it)


The halters I promised... Well my mom told me after I had asked her about the custom halters and told me I would have to ask my dad( I call him pa) those where the words I did NOT want to hear *sigh* guess I'll ask tomorrow, I'll be sure to tell you what happens there.


Dixie, she's been a good girl but I haven't rode in a week so I'm planing to ride tomorrow so I'm going to try to take some pictures and videos (yeah let's see how that go's).I think I'm going to try bareback too but I'm still using her headstall in case she's a bad girl.

Yeah so not to much has happened lately but I hope this was interesting, please tell me if it was it would mean the world to me lol. Also I want to let you know I play on howrse under the name

I can explain, really!

Yes I have an explication for not posting here in what, Over a week?Here it is.

Me and my sister where given the job of taking care of five baby calves ( two heifers and three bulls)and they needed to be fed every day, one of them had to be bottle fed but the other four where eating feed by the time we got them.So the one we had to bottle feed would eat four 2 quart  bottles a day  so they where keeping us busy, but we when out today and one of the heifers was down and everyone knows if they stay down too long they will die, so we gave her a shot and some Gatorade and hoped for the best, she didn't make it... So it's been tough on my sister, I understand that God gave her to us for a short while but it was a fun while, speaking of which there is a video you just NEED to watch, but get your tissues out it will make you cry.
This young man is just remarkable but more importantly So is God

Updates!

So here's what I've been up to this past week.

That's the saddle I was talking about last week, which will later turn into a set.
here is what I got for Easter.

A glossy GG Valentine and Heartbreaker these two are actually  My first glossy models so I'm really happy with them(in love with them).

This I really can't explain I guess I just thought it was a cool picture. I did make a breakaway halter today my next post is just going to be about halters because I asked my mother today if I could sale halters and she said yes!(don't know if she meant orderable or not) so if you would like one you could actually see what you would get. I'll go over prices too so don't worry about that, lowest price would be $5.00 and shipping I can see about. Okay that's all I got right now, bye!

Cow work

I'm thinking about posting some reference pictures for others to use but no horses in these.

Since I live on a ranch I thought maybe somebody may need reference pictures for a ranch work scene,or just for a cow you need painted.Trust me i have seen every color cow there  is And there are a lot but also breed types I may sit down one day and write a post on breed types of cows (not that anyone should need it but oh well)and colors.just cows in general, who knows it might be interesting.

As for the studio,you know that saddle I finished?well it's become a set so I can't call it finished and the horse got dropped and got an ear rub.boy I sure hope I can fix that but that's another day so I will get to that tomorrow.

So progress I've made today:
Completed my saddle
Made a saddle rack for my saddle
Worked on a custom
Thought about a color for a foal


Yeah just doesn't seem like much does it? Thought so,I would take pictures but my camera died and I'm charging it for tomorrow.


Oh and by the way that foal, I never found a color for him he's on the G3 standing foal mold any suggestions as for color??

I've recovered from testing so I'm back to work in the studio lol and I've gone through the box of bodies and chosen my victims *insert evil laugh here* not to bad at this point,but not enough to show you guys,Sorry but the time will come when you get to see them.

But I'm taking My spring break this week so no school to bother Me this week yay!So I can get to painting, making tack and such,I also started a new saddle but this one is for a schleich horse one of the 2013 molds.So yeah not big projects but many small ones,I'll see what tomorrow brings ;)

Yay it's over!!

Yes I am done with testing for a whole year which means I get to work on stuff now and sleep.Ah...... Sleep wonderful sleep :)

Help Me!

Oh my gosh I ran non stop ALL day,woke up went hunting (5:45 AM) got out of the woods went and fed cows (I got to drive the tractor:D) went to the store with Mom and then to tractor supply ours doesn't sell any trad breyers except around Christmas then back home to see Dixie.Almost no studio time just enough to cover a saddle seat and look at my vaulting set.

 Not a restful Sunday at all AND tomorrow and Tuesday I have to go test for my school stuff (I'm home schooled but they demand that I take an achievement test thing) grrrr not going to be a fun week so far is it?maybe I'll get a package I'm expecting tomorrow.....I sure hope so

Just too tired...

Studio Stuff

This is my first attempt at a saddle.Not the best but still not the worst,happy with it for the most part.

I used a combination of acrylics,pastels and colored pencils .

I know i have a messy workspace but that's what happens when i have a good day xD
